Barks n' Bubbles Pet Spa is helping out with the Oil Spill.
Through the organization Matter of Trust, we are collecting clean dog fur to create booms. These booms are used to absorb the oil on the water in the Gulf.
Dog fur and human hair are very absorbent and attract oil. When the fur is placed in nylon tubes, the newly created booms are placed on the water and acts as a barrier between the oil layer and clean ocean water. Each inch of clean hair is used. When your fuzzy friend came in for its regularly grooming recently, it helped out without even lifting a paw!
